The Leach Highway / Abernethy Road intersection has been upgraded to a grade separated interchange.

It is a Single Point Urban Interchange (SPUI) which allows all through movements on Abernethy Road, as well as the traffic entering and exiting Leach Highway, to be controlled by a single set of traffic signals. It allows traffic to travel uninterrupted along Leach Highway, under Abernethy Road.

The SPUI is the first of its kind in Western Australia so road users are encouraged to keep in mind the following:

• There is only one set of traffic signals in operation.
• You must clear the full interchange in one movement. Do not stop midway through.
• The traffic signals are further distanced from one another than a traditional interchange.

Please select your travel movement from the options above to see how you navigate through the interchange.

The Roe Highway / Berkshire Road intersection has been upgraded to a grade separated interchange, where Roe Highway traffic travels over the top of Berkshire Road, allowing a free-flow movement.

Berkshire Road has a 'tennis ball' configuration which generally can be described as being similar to a roundabout under signal control but right-turn traffic movements from Berkshire Road cut through the roundabout to and from the ramps.
