Bridge beams to be installed over Dundas Road

The first installation of bridge beams for 2015 will take place this upcoming weekend for a new Tonkin Highway bridge over Dundas Road.

As part of the Gateway WA project upgrades, an on-ramp has been constructed to connect Abernethy Road to Tonkin Highway southbound.

A total of eight beams will be transported to the site and a crane located on Dundas Road will lift the beams into position.

Gateway WA has co-ordinated a schedule with the below railway to lift beams in between service times for trains travelling through this section adjacent to Dundas Road. This will avoid disruption to freight services over the weekend.

Road users will have to follow a detour as Dundas Road between Berkshire Road and Tonkin Highway will be closed to facilitate this major structural work safely. Please see the traffic notices for Dundas Road and Abernethy Road relating to this weekend.

Next month the team will install bridge beams for another Tonkin Highway bridge over Abernethy Road.
